Gargunnock, Stirlingshire, Scotland
Just to give you a sense of environment, these two photos are taken from north third reservoir above Cambusbarron and Gargunnock. These are called the Touch Hills. The mountains in the distance are pure Trossachs and Balquhidder! The area that separates the Touch Hills to the South and the mountainous area to the North is referred to as the Carse of Stirling. It is largely flatter and more fertile than the surrounding lands. The rivers Teith and Forth meander down. Blair Drummond and Flanders Moss sit on the Carse. I love going to Flanders Moss. Peaceful and with rare plant life. The geology and topography are interesting here. I think Aberfoyle is considered to be a distinct area where the rock formation changes. The gateway to the Highlands! Ok the southern Highlands. To me the Highlands start north of Crianlarich and Tyndrum but I won’t argue with anyone if you want to come from the Highlands.
