Inchmahome Priory, Lake of Menteith, Stirlingshire, Scotland
So here is Inchmahome Priory. Good half day trip out. Short boat hop and a good spot for a picnic. Inchmahome is centuries old and has seen plenty of history (more detail in the Historic Environment Scotland link I posted). I couldn’t resist speaking in the parlour passage of course. We were the only ones on the island – closed due to Covid – so it was very atmospheric and silent, except for me and the nest-protecting oystercatcher parents who were very alarmed. Note that the Grahams of Glenny have some form of plot within the Priory. I think this family links into some of the Stewarts as I have come across them in my hunting.
