Norrieston Farm, The carse of Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland
A sprint to a very different site today. After lots of mountain photos, the carse of Stirling is relatively flat and fertile. It has long been prized agricultural land. It has beautiful views all around with the Fintry Hills to the South and the Highlands to the North. I went near Thornhill to take these photos. There are a number of water courses along the floor of the carse – the River Teith being one, the river Forth being another and the funny little stream called the Goodie Water that runs from the Lake of Menteith to the south of Thornhill and eventually into the Forth. Post script – turns out Norrieston Farm is an important place for the Stewarts of Ardvorlich! Who knew?
