Kilmahog Cemetery, Kilmahog, Stirlingshire, Scotland
First photo stop today was Kilmahog Cemetery. This is a tiny little graveyard on the banks of the river Teith however it was full of Stewarts, Macfarlanes, McIntyres along with a handful of Macgregor, McLarens, Buchanans and Ferguson. Of the Stewarts, I saw some of Duart, Lendrick, Portnellan, Inverlochlarig, Auchnahard, Milton and Bochastle, Grodich and others in Glenfinglas. Many of the stones in far better condition than other graveyards – better protected from the weather I think. For me, a lovely look as I know (I think) I may have links into some of these lines – whether through MacFarlane or Stewart. I have included a selection of the stones but it is not so interesting to photograph or view gravestones en masse so I have probably missed off a few.
Shout if you have any interest in Kilmahog cemetery as I can easily go back there. Oh hey and read this about Kilmahog and its “morthouse” https://graveyardsofscotland.com/…/morthouse-bell…/amp/ Map included. The graveyard is not marked but the Lade Inn is (see PH for Public House) in Kilmahog. Graveyard between the Lade Inn and River Teith.
