Did you know there are lots of ichneumon at Invernenty? Nope nor did I! “Come on. There are bound to be loads of insects. Reader, there was. There were also chocolate biscuits and hot chocolate too.
Walked from Stronvar along the south of Loch Voil and Loch Doine to Invernenty. What an amazing place. Nestled in the side of the hill with views up and down the Glen.
Worth wandering up from Invernenty itself, as there is a deep but narrow gorge in the hillside where the stream runs down. Waterfalls. The lot. Invernenty was where Capt Donald MacLaren lived (Capt MacLaren fought at Culloden but there is some confusion as to who he fought with).
The ownership of Invernenty was also a matter of dispute in the late 18th century between Maclarens and Stewarts of Appin – previous posts refer).https://clanmclaurin.blogspot.com/…/capt-donald-mclaren…
