Annat, Kilmadock, Stirlingshire, Scotland
Annat (or “Annet.” as it appears on modern maps) in Kilmadock was the home of one of the main branches of the Stewarts of Balquhidder. An elevated site on the Braes of Doune, Annat has amazing views over the Carse of Stirling towards the Touch Hills to the south.
A bit of a sad sight now though as the main house crumbles away……The Annat Stewarts were active players in political circles in Scotland, and the old hyperlink below tells you more of their history and genealogy.
