Malcolm McCoullchere MacGregor in Innerlochlarig (Inverlochlarigh) was accused in 1604 of participating in the murder of Hugh Stewart servant to the Lord of Atholl.
Malcolm McCoullchere in Innerlochlarig (Inverlochlarigh) was accused in 1604 of “being airt and pairt, and being on the grundis at the crewall Slauchter of vmqle Hew Stewart serveand to my Lord of Athole ; committit threttie yeir syne. Item for Airt and pairt of the slauchter of umqle Patrik McGregour in Glenbokie (Glenbuckie); committit in the moneth of Sep. 1576. (A.G.M. MacGregor, History of Clan Gregor, vol i,326, Record of Justiciary. Cited at http://glendiscovery.com/dissertation-chap3.htm)
Hugh Stewart is identified as a servant to the Lord of Atholl. It is therefore likely that Hugh Stewart resided in Atholl and more likely belonged to Clan Stewart of Atholl than Clan Stewart of Balquhidder, however the connection to Malcolm McCoullchere (mac Doubal Ciar) MacGregor in Inverlochlarig (in Balquhidder) makes this case of potential interest.
