The Settlements of Western Perthshire by James Stewart
The Settlements of Western Perthshire by James Stewart, PhD. James is a retired professor of Geography. This is an excellent book based on his earlier PhD thesis, which gives a comprehensive history of the Balquhidder area as well as a detailed archaeological survey of the ruins of James’ ancestral Stewart home, Lianach in Glenbuckie. While the book is hard to find and can be expensive, his original PhD these is online and can be found by clicking this blurb.
