If you’re looking for your ancestors among the Stewarts of Balquhidder then there are multiple ways to search this site. We recommend you try them all.

Our website includes a contextual search engine above which can search every webpage and blog post on our website.
Unfortunately, our site search engine is not able to search our Discussion Forum or our Family Tree Database. These must be searched separately. (See below.)
If you enter ‘Stewart’ in the search field, it will automatically search for ‘Stuart’ and ‘Steuart” as well as the plural forms of each.
IMPORTANT: Since every single page/post on this site contains the surname “Stewart/Stuart/Steuart”, we recommend you USE QUOTES AROUND ANY PERSON WITH THE SURNAME STEWART. Otherwise your results will include every page/post on our website.
Example 1
- If you want to search for: John Stewart of Glenbuckie
- Enter: “John Stewart” AND Glenbuckie
- This will return all pages/posts that include both the name “John Stewart” and the location, “Glenbuckie.”
- If you leave out the quotation marks then your results will include every page/post on this site.
Example 2
- If you want to search for: John Stewart born in 1815
- Enter: “John Stewart” AND 1815
- This will return all pages/posts that include both the name “John Stewart” and the date 1815.
- If you leave out the quotation marks then your results will include every page/post on this site.
Search by Location (Using Location Tags)
In addition to being able to search the entire site by location in the search box above, you can also search by location tags. Every page and post on this site is tagged by location. At the bottom of the top banner of every page/post you will see a list of locations mentioned on that page. Click any location in that list to be taken to a list of every page/post that contains that location.
Search Our Family Tree Database
Our database houses over 20,000 individuals. Not all of them are featured on our website here. Also, some of the database entries contain details not presented on the web pages here. However, our site search engine cannot search the database. You must search the database separately using its own search engine.
Database search does NOT automatically search for STEWART, STUART & STEUART. You must search for each surname variant separately.
Search Our Discussion Forum
Our Discussion Forum holds all the conversations about our research on this site. Our site search engine cannot search our Discussion Forum. You must search the Discussion Forum using its own search engine.
