Ailsa Gray lives near Dunblane in an 18th century Balquhidder Stewart house. She enjoys researching its history and previous guests which included James Stewart of the Glen and Robert Louis Stevenson. The house and a previous occupant inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's character David Balfour in Kidnapped. Ailsa is a Native American Scot who has been fostered by the Balquhidder Stewart Clan and hopefully won't be as much trouble to them as Alan Breck was to the Appin Stewarts!
